The centre really is “a little pocket of brilliance in Hoxton”, run by an energetic team who are absolutely committed to providing a stimulating environment for children and a warm and friendly atmosphere where everyone can thrive.
What are the centre's aims?
At The Ivy Street Family Centre staff work hard to build relationships both within families and between families. The Christian foundation of the charity means that they aim to demonstrate faith in a practical way, showing care and concern for all. The centre welcomes people to all their activities regardless of their faith, gender, sexual orientation, family background or race. Everyone is treated with respect, and staff at the centre love to see families from different backgrounds making connections and supporting each other.
What sort of activities does the centre offer families?
Antenatal and postnatal support - Sessions such as 'Bump to One' provide stimulation and a safe environment for young babies to bond with their parents or carers.
Messy play sessions - provide the space and resources for babies and toddlers under 5 to get creative. There is plenty for the toddlers to play with and the kettle is always on for a cuppa for the adults.
Growbaby - Growbaby provides families in need with good quality donated baby clothes and equipment, free of charge. Established with the help of several City firms in 2013, Growbaby has helped hundreds of families provide for their children since opening. Hoxton Growbaby was inspired by Kingston Growbaby, which started in 2001.

How Jaguar is helping
Our support has allowed the club to continue as completely free to all of its members. We have provided the funds for a number of key members to attend Leadership in Running & Fitness courses, endorsed by England Athletics. These courses ensure all members receive competent guidance and support when attending club sessions. We have also provided funds for sports equipment, and for banners & flags used to support the Danson Runners when they go ‘on tour’ to take part in running events across the country.
Glebe FC Under 16 Kent team
The Under 16s play in the Kent Youth League North Division and were League Champions 2017/18.
After an excellent 2016/17 season as Under 15s they are looking to challenge for the League Title in the 2017/18 season.
Coaching is provided by experienced FA qualified coaches, some of which have professional playing experience, and home matches are played at Glebe FC's privately owned ground on Foxbury Avenue, off Perry Street, Chislehurst, BR7 6HA. The ground provides excellent facilities including a floodlit stadium pitch and clubhouse.
A route to Senior football
Importantly, Glebe FCs Youth section provides a clear route into senior football. The Glebe FC First Team has just claimed the Southern Counties East First Division Title and will play in Step 5, the Southern Counties East Premier Division, next season. A number of the current First Team squad are products of the youth section.
