Meet Mitchel: A Day in the Life of a Demise Supervisor

This quarter, our Day in the Life feature shines a spotlight on Mitchel Harrington, Demise Supervisor at the Blue Fin building.

For Mitchel, no two days are ever the same. Each morning begins by reviewing reactive maintenance requests with the Helpdesk team, checking BMS performance, and ensuring statutory compliance tasks are complete. From there, the day can quickly shift from coordinating subcontractors and issuing permits to carrying out HVAC surveys, managing PPM’s, diagnosing faults or working directly with tenants to deliver practical engineering solutions.

Mitchel advised that one of the most rewarding aspects of the role has been leading HVAC validation works for new tenant spaces. Identifying remedial works and establishing asset condition from day one helps create a smoother transition into long-term maintenance solutions.

Having progressed from installation electrician to Demise Supervisor, Mitchel credits his success to technical curiosity and a willingness to keep learning.
