Project Summary
Jaguar Projects were tasked with replacing 2 no. existing condenser pumps at South Quay Building whilst the building remained fully occupied. We ensured the building remained fully operable, therefore we had carefully planned and communicated with the site team to minimise disruption to the occupiers.
The existing 90kW pumps which were installed during base build were replaced with more energy efficient inverter driven 45kW pumps. With advances in modern technology, we were able to provide considerable energy savings to our client.
We approached the project to replace each pump set one at a time to ensure that cooling to the building was maintained throughout the replacements. A short proving period between pump replacements was deployed to confirm full operation of the system prior to moving onto replacement of the second pump. Local pipework modifications were undertaken to suit the new pump connections. Renewal and modification of power supplies were installed for both pumps. Following completion of the pipework installation, disinfection was carried out followed by microbiological sampling. The differential pressure switches were replaced along with new field wiring and the control strategy was recommissioned to ensure appropriate changeover operation. Commissioning of the pumps included flow rate and inverter module commissioning works from the manufacturer.
The project was completed successfully on time over a period of three months.
