Project Summary
Jaguar Projects were tasked with replacing the fire alarm system serving One Eagle Place, ensuring compliance was achieved for the life safety systems within the building. This included installing an upgraded cabling network, new main panels and repeater panels within critical locations to enable the security greater visibility in the event of an incident.
One Eagle Place consists of 6no. tenanted floors and was a live building for the duration of the entire works. The continued occupancy and operation of the building meant the works had to be undertaken out of normal hours and had to remain operational after each phase, as we were working on critical life safety systems. This meant that the works had to be carefully planned and that the operatives were working in a controlled manner for the duration of the works.
Works were completed a single level at a time, with full testing and commissioning done before moving on to the next floor to ensure that there was no downtime.
Jaguar Projects were the appointed Principal Contractor for the project, working alongside the client appointed Principal Designer and Building Regulations Principal Designer. Due to the site conditions the building is classed as a High-Risk Building and therefore a higher level of management is required.
The logistics of this project coupled with the out of hours phasing meant this project was a challenge but a skilled team and the cooperative approach from our specialist teams and the client allowed a smooth process from commencement to completion.
The client representative offered continual support throughout the project and made the project a pleasure to be involved with.
