Project Summary
Jaguar Projects were requested to undertake remediation works to the glass balustrade from levels 1 to 7, with a permanent solution required to ensure compliance with BS 6180:2011.
Building consists of 7no. tenanted floors and was a live building for the duration of the entire works. The continued occupancy and operation of the building meant the works had to be undertaken out of normal hours and had to remain operational after each phase, with full building access still required. This meant that the works had to be carefully planned and that the operatives were working in a controlled manner for the duration of the works.
For works to safely take place a phased scaffold platform was required to be installed throughout the central core to the building. This required regular sign offs from a temporary works co-ordinator.
Works were completed a single level at a time, with full testing and commissioning done before moving on to the next floor to ensure that there was no downtime.
Jaguar Projects were the appointed Principal Contractor for the project, working alongside the client appointed Principal Designer. All works were delivered on time and within the budget, completed to a high standard and signed off as compliant by the building control officer.
The logistics of this project coupled with the out of hours phasing meant this project was a challenge but a skilled team and the cooperative approach from our specialist teams and the client allowed a smooth process from commencement to completion.
The client representative offered continual support throughout the project and made the project a pleasure to be involved with.
