Building Overview

MidCity Place is one of Jaguar’s longest-standing partnerships. Since 2001, our team has provided a fully integrated M&E service across this 38,600 m² commercial building. The site houses a diverse mix of tenants, each with unique operational needs, demanding reliability, precision, and rapid response across all building systems. Over two decades, Jaguar has delivered proactive maintenance, compliance assurance, energy optimisation, and seamless operational support, ensuring the building runs safely, efficiently, and without disruption.

Scope of works

Jaguar’s services at MidCity Place cover the full spectrum of mechanical and electrical engineering, tailored to a complex, multi-tenanted environment:

• HVAC Systems: Planned maintenance and optimisation of air handling units, chillers, and plant equipment to ensure comfort and operational efficiency.
• Electrical Infrastructure: Full management of low-voltage distribution, switchgear, rising busbars, and emergency backup systems.
• Fire Safety Systems: Maintenance and testing of alarms, suppression, and smoke control systems in compliance with legislation.
• Water Hygiene & Safety: Management of water systems to maintain hygiene, pressure, and compliance.
• Building Management Systems (BMS) & Energy Monitoring: Ongoing optimisation, energy-efficiency initiatives, and real-time monitoring to reduce consumption.

Recent Challenge

Jaguar was recently called to address a power outage affecting a rising busbar. On inspection, the 400A MCCB supplying the riser showed severe heat damage. The team implemented a complex LV isolation procedure, with full safety documentation, allowing the switchboard to be safely isolated.

Closer inspection revealed a loose, incorrectly installed neutral link that caused extreme heating. The MCCB was replaced with site-critical spares and reinstated the same evening, restoring power with minimal disruption. This incident demonstrates Jaguar’s technical expertise, rapid problem-solving, and operational resilience in high-pressure scenarios.
